Slings

If you’re searching for high-quality slings, made to the highest specifications with stringent testing, look no further. At Slingco, we manufacture and stock webbing slings, round slings, polyplait slings, flat slings and wire rope slings – all custom made to your requirement.

  • Webbing slings – Manufactured to customer requirement, we supply a range of web slings. This includes cask nets for lifting of barrels in and out of cellars at licensed premises and bag slings to assist tradespeople with the lifting of pipes, carpet rolls, paper etc.
  • Round slings – Our round slings are custom-made to BS EN 1492-2:2000 from high strength polyester yarn with polyester colour-coded cover. They can be supplied fitted with a double-sheath and are available in a range of different colours.
  • Flat band slings – The Slingco woven wire rope flat band sling is tough. Fitted with a polyester sleeve protector, they provide an unbeatable combination where abrasion and sharp edges result in high mortality rate and less able slings.

Woven wire won't damage or cut, unlike nylon slings. Here are a few of their many benefits:

  • Extremely durable
  • Won't stretch
  • Design encourages use on original purchase applications
  • Fitted with soft eye, thimble eyes or grommets
  • Replacement woven polyester abrasion sleeves can double the life of the sling
  • Replacement sleeves are inexpensive and can be fitted in a matter of minutes
  • Standard range from 1.5 tonnes SWL to 24 tonnes SWL
  • Supplied with 'D', dual purpose or reeving terminals
  • Reduces paperwork when re-ordering

Polyplait slings

The combination of steel wire rope interlaced with a specially manufactured polypropylene rope cord provides the Slingco polyplait wire rope sling with its unique qualities.

  • No other wire rope sling is as flexible as the polyplait. In fact, it’s 5x more flexible than conventional wire rope slings.
  • Should the poly rope become cut, this in no way weakens the sling as it's the steel wire rope that provides the strength

Polyplait slings can be fitted with a special polyester cover which provides further protection to the sling and the item being lifted. This prolongs the durability and lifespan of the sling even when used in the most arduous conditions.

Polyplait slings are a premium product, but with considered application in problem areas users can achieve remarkable savings over time.

Strength is achieved by the interlaced wire rope construction. The ends of the wires terminate inside the FSE splice, leaving no protruding wires to tear hands or damage cargoes.

Cushioning is the special feature of this versatile sling. Polypropylene rope is interwoven into the wire mesh in such a way that the polypropylene stands proud of the wires.

Flexibility is guaranteed by the wire rope weave of the sling.

Cost savings are important for you and us. If and when the polypropylene rope wears, slings can be returned to Slingco for 're-roping', avoiding the need to purchase completely new slings.
